The first COE bidding exercise for March 2025 saw prices rising across most categories, with the exception of Category A, which experienced a slight dip. The latest bidding results highlight the continued demand for larger vehicles and commercial categories, while smaller car COE prices saw a minor correction.
Here’s a quick snapshot of the results from the 5 March 2025 bidding round:
With only Category A dipping slightly, the trend suggests strong demand for larger vehicles, commercial fleets, and motorcycles, likely influenced by factors such as inventory management, corporate fleet purchases, and overall buyer confidence.
The small dip in Category A COE premiums suggests that demand for mass-market cars is stabilizing after previous hikes. With affordability concerns still present, buyers may be holding off on purchases or considering alternative financing options.
Despite recent fluctuations, Category B prices remain on an upward trajectory. Strong demand for premium and luxury cars, coupled with limited supply, continues to push up prices.
With businesses expanding and commercial fleet upgrades in progress, demand for goods vehicle COEs remains steady. Companies may also be securing COEs before potential supply restrictions tighten further.
Although this is a smaller increase compared to other categories, motorcycle COEs have been gradually climbing due to increased ridership demand and delivery service expansions.
This open-category COE can be used for any vehicle type, and with strong luxury car demand, prices in Category E continue to remain high. Buyers looking for high-end cars are likely driving up this segment.
While Category A buyers may find some relief, prices for larger cars, commercial vehicles, and motorcycles continue to trend upwards. If you’re in the market for a vehicle, keeping an eye on COE trends and consulting with dealers for the best financing options is crucial in today’s market.
